Well, we made it back from Cuba without incident. Other than being placed in a flea bag (literally) 1 star hotel by mistake and having to have to threaten people to get to the right one, (they overbooked) it was a great trip. Weather was perfect. People were friendly. Food was edible and finally, the alcohol was plentiful.
Next, we head for The Keys mid March for two weeks. As this winter has been particularly nasty we are feeling we picked the right winter to take two holidays!

Just to prove my whinging in the last post was heartfelt, we have decided to escape the cold and white and head south for a week. Manzanillo de Cuba is the spot and boy are we looking forward to it! It seems now like we can survive the winter. The Toronto Boat Show is next week and we will be attending that as usual. Just over a week after that we leave for Cuba. We return to Canada on the 7th February and then are off again the The Keys for our annual “March Break” in Islamorada. We will be back in Ontario the first week of April and hopefully by that time spring won’t be too far away. All of a sudden winter looks survivable
Here is our destination in Cuba.

Nasty weather, cold, snowy, slippery roads (I wrecked my Pontiac Wave last week!) …… it’s all back again. No one wants to hear me whinge on about it though so I’ll briefly suggest my misery and move on. Firstly, Happy New Year to all. I hope 2008 is good to you and nothing bad happens in your life. For me, and I’ve been told not to wish life away, it brings me closer (487 days to go) to retirement. My employer has become impossible to work for and bosses blind ambitions have ruined what used to be a wonderful organization. Time for me to go before I lose it and tell someone what I REALLY think of them. Dreaming of 2009 and a Caribbean sunset at anchorage

It looks like this summer is to be a bit of a “downer” for us. We are saving our holidays for next year when hopefully we will be helping to transport a boat from Goderich to Florida. The only good part about all this is that we get to save $2000 this year and that means more boat toys!!!
We will get a small North Channel “fix” when we join friends for a weekend somewhere near Little Current. We will look forward to that. We take this opportunity to wish all our sailing friends fair winds and a safe 2007 on the water.
This is the future home of the Blog “Restless Sole” that will chronicle the adventures of that particular boat and it’s crew. This Blog has been started and deleted many times. It appears that there is no need to ever delete this one as it’s free
